Vesper, who was so charming in volume 2, becomes a bit of a Mary Sue (along with a terrible parent!) in this second volume, a minor character in the Malice becomes a major (and thoroughly unlikable) character here, and although we get an origin story of the Seven, the Breach and most plot lines are tied up, the origin story itself is built around a character who herself remains a cypher.

In no way is this a bad book, and you will feel that the story wraps up completely -- and you get some fascinating insights into the Infernal. It just doesn;t match the promise of first two volumes.

I enjoyed all of the people and places in this saga.
All three of the novels in this series were fantastic. The last exceeds expectations and answers many of the questions that have us curious in the other two.
Great series. Reading again from start to finish with filler books.

Very unique idea for a storyline (in my experience). This author knows how to paint detalied word pictures alongside the best in the biz, while letting your own imagination run wild.
What an original trilogy! Hypnotic storytelling style. Tons of original ideas and characters.

Action, suspense, heartbreak, sortof romance, lots of lol moments. Loved it.
I devoured these books while also savoring them. I rarely write reviews, but am compelled to share how much I have enjoyed The Vagrant Trilogy. Peter Newman tells a rich, nuanced, character driven tale of wonder and amazement, and he tells it masterfully. The tale alone would be worth the read, but the telling is what sets it apart, makes it a true work of art. This Trilogy will remain in my reading cycle, keeping company with other great works by better known fellow masters of the craft.
Wow. That’s about all I can say. I enjoyed these books immensely. The Vagrant has become one of my favorite characters of all time. The fact that he only says three or four words throughout the entire series says something about how well written he was. I’ll definitely be looking for more books from this author in the future.
